| VVA Chapter 1000 Killeen/Fort Hood, Texas hosted the Texas State Council Meeting on February 12-14, 2010 The VVAFT Board of Directors meeting was held at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 12th. Besides normal business, an announcement was made that the foundation is accepting applications for a vacancy on the board due to passing of Herschel Carmichael in November 2009. | VVAFT Board meetings are held in conjunction with the Vietnam Veterans of America - Texas State Council Meeting. The VVAFT Board meets on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and the Texas State Council meets on Saturday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. All VVAFT Board members are members of Vietnam Veterans of America and serve in various positions within VVA and the VVA Texas State Council at either the chapter, state or national level. |
| VVA Chapter 343 Houston, Texas hosted the Texas State Council Meeting on June 5-7, 2009 The VVAFT Board of Directors meeting was held at 4:00 pm on Friday, June 5th. Besides normal business, our biennial elections were held. All four officers were re-elected along with those directors whose terms were up. There was one opening on the board of directors due to the passing of Lucio Moreno & at the meeting another director was dismissed due to excessive unexcused absences. Victor Flores & Al Navarro both submitted their resumes and requested to be seated on the board. Both were given time to make their case on what they could bring to the board in terms of experience, etc. Both were approved and seated on the board |
